Roles

This page explains about different User roles of the application and their functionality.

The following are the User Roles which exist in the application. Each role have different functionalities.

  1. API Admin
  2. Customer Admin
  3. Customer User
  4. Guest
  5. Merchant Admin
  6. Merchant User
  7. System Admin
  8. Internal User

The First seven user roles can be assigned to a User on the Add User Page. But, the Internal User and the roles are not visible in the user interface. The Internal user cannot be allowed to login to the application and performs only background operations, whereas the Guest user can login to the application without registering provided that payments access without logging in is turned ON at the Merchant level.

Roles

API Admin

  • API Admin role user can login only through API requests and is not allowed to login via UI.
  • This user can successfully perform all admin actions but via API only.

Customer Admin

  • Customer Admin role user can modify customers and users under the associated customer after logging into the application.

  • When a Customer Admin is modifying a user, the Roles dropdown only displays with customer-related roles (e.g., Customer Admin and Customer User). Customer Admin cannot see or modify System Admin and/or Merchant User roles.

  • Customer Admin role has access to view and edit the customer profile tab but not Due Remainder tab. And also, a Customer Admin cannot add/clone or delete a Customer.

  • Customer Admin has the ability to perform Reset Password, Generate Temporary Password, Reset Email, Unlock/Restore/Reactivate Accounts, Reset and View Security Q&As of the Customer Users.

  • Customer Admin has the access to view the transaction records of all the Customer users under the same Customer via Payment History page.

  • Customer Admin role users can make payments but cannot Void, Capture or Refund transactions.

  • Customer Admin role users cannot add or edit Gift cards.

Customer User

  • Customer User role user will have access to view only his/her account.

  • Customer User has access to view payments only made by him/her.

  • Customer User can make payments, but cannot Void, Capture or Refund transactions.

  • Customer User role users cannot add or edit Gift cards, but can make payments, do Balance inquiry via gift cards.

Merchant Admin

  • Merchant Admin role user has access to View/Edit Merchant Summary. But, it is limited only to Profile and Security Changes.

  • Merchant Admin role user has access to view the payments made by all the users of the application and also has the capability to make Payments, Refunds, void and Capture transactions.

  • Merchant Admin role users cannot view other Merchant's configurations and the transaction related information.

  • Merchant Admins can create/edit other user role users who belongs to the same merchant, such as Merchant User, Customer Admin, Customer User, but cannot create/edit a System Admin role user.

  • Merchant Admins also have the capabiltity to perform User actions such as Reset Email, Reset Password, Reset Security Questions & Answers, Delete, Unlock, Restore, Reactivate etc.

  • Merchant Admin role users can add and manage Gift cards.

  • Merchant Admin role users can upload an invoice file from the Manage Invoices->Invoice File Upload page.

Merchant User

  • Merchant User role user has access to view the payments made by all the users of the application.

  • Merchant Users can Capture a Payment, but cannot void or make any Refunds.

  • Merchant Users can view all the Payment Methods created by users and has the ability to modify or delete the same.

  • Merchant users cannot view the profiles of other users and cannot delete, modify other users.

System Admin

System Admin Users has access to almost everything in the application.

  • These users can create new users, view existing users, and can modify them.

  • These users can view all Payment Methods but cannot delete them.

  • System Admins' has the ability to perform Reset Password, Generate Temporary Password, Reset Email, Unlock/Restore/Reactivate Accounts, Reset and View Security Q&As of all the users.

  • System Admin users can View/Edit Merchant configuration settings or can create a new Merchant.

  • These users have the capability of adding new Merchants, Channels, Customers, Products etc.

  • System Admin users can Create, modify, delete Loyalty rules(Issuance, Redemption) and can Manage Products & Services.

  • System Admins can view all different kinds of User sessions of all the users.

  • System Admin role users have access to view Gift cards, but cannot add them.

  • System Admin role cannot have the access to the Invoice File Upload page and the link is hidden for them on the navbar.

Guest User

  • Guest Users are the users who can access the application without logging in.

  • The Guest Users do not have access to any other page of the application except Make A Payment page.

  • These users can access Make A Payment page via Pay Now link on the Login page.

Internal User

  • Internal User role users cannot login to the application and can be used only to perform background operations of the application.
